Considering A Disney World Condo?

When you start looking for a Disney World condo, the first thing you'll find is that are a lot of them and it's going to be difficult to make a decision. If you have decided that you don't want to stay at a Disney resort hotel or a motel outside Disney, then a condo near Disney World can be a great option. Perhaps, the wisest course for finding a good Disney World condo is to hook up with a reliable real estate agent. If you can, however, get recommendations from happy customers. Florida has more than its share of human sharks.

There are a number of important things to consider before you sign on the dotted line. Be sure it's reasonably close to the Disney World theme parks unless you don't mind driving. Remember Disney World is actually southwest of Orlando, not in Orlando. Driving through rush hour traffic or spending 30 minutes to an hour on the highway may not be real relaxing. You will most likely need a car but if you plan to do without one, then make sure there is easily accessible and reliable transportation to get you to and from the parks. Not all of the available condos are in 'good' areas so that needs to be checked too. You may be coming home relatively late at night on occasion and a safe neighborhood is important.

If you can get hold of people who have stayed in a condo you're considering, finding out their experience and any tips or recommendations could be very helpful. A noisy environment or a condo with bad air conditioning or poor maintenance won't make for a pleasant, relaxing vacation. You'll probably want to make sure that the condo complex has a swimming pool and any other additional facilities that would be important for you and your family. You may not want to spend every day at a theme park.

You absolutely have to check on how close the condo is to shops, grocery stores and restaurants. In some areas around Disney World, it may be quite a trip to find a reasonably priced supermarket or a restaurant. And be aware, that it can sometimes be a problem getting reservations at some restaurants. This issue of location is even more important if you won't have a car.

While you may be able to save some money by renting a Disney World condo (especially compared to some of the Disney World Resort hotel prices), it can pose some problems if you don't do a thorough job of checking things out first. Since you want to relax and enjoy your Disney vacation, you need a quality condo in the right location.
