A Disney Vacation For The Whole FamilyA Disney vacation offers the possibility for the entire family to have a great vacation and really enjoy being together as well as having the opportunity to enjoy specific things that may not appeal to everyone. Since the opening of Disneyland back in 1955, Disney has spread across the globe with a total of 11 theme parks around the world from California and Florida to Europe, Hong Kong and Tokyo. Aside from the theme parks, entertainment complexes, hotels and resorts, there are also Disney cruises with two cruise ships currently in operation and two larger ones on order. A nice feature of the cruise ships is the adult-only areas which provide a chance for the parents to relax while the kids get the Disney experience under supervision. Did you realize just how much you may have to think about when you consider a Disney vacation? Most people, at first, simply think of Disney World and the Magic Kingdom. If you aren't interested in experiencing a Disney cruise, you still have to decide which of the five resorts around the world you want to visit. Of course, the most popular is the Walt Disney World Resort near Orlando, Florida with it's 4 theme parks, over 20 themed hotels and resorts (even luxurious themed villas), 2 water parks and other entertainment complexes such as Pleasure Island, DisneyQuest and Wide World of Sports. Disney World is probably the world's number one tourist attraction and all four of its theme parks rank in the top ten of the world's theme parks. The Magic Kingdom is number one and in a class by itself with over 16 million visitors last year. Say you've finally managed to decide just where you want to take your Disney vacation, well, there are still more choices coming along. Do you want to stay in a Disney hotel at the resort or an off-site hotel. There are both advantages and disadvantages to either decision. Realistically, the main disadvantage of Disney accommodations is the expense. And the expense includes not just the accommodations but also your costs for food. Advantages? Excellent rooms, great service, friendly well trained staff, free unlimited access to the Disney transportation system of bus, monorail and boat. Plus a number of other perks such as priority and early entrance to the theme parks, purchases delivered directly to your room and the full-blown Disney magic around the clock. You can reduce your expenses by not renting a car if you stay at a Disney hotel since they will provide transportation to and from the airport as well as the excellent internal transportation system. if you plan to visit other (non-Disney) attractions, or visit local shopping centers, it may make more sense to stay off-site and rent a car. However, if your budget can support staying in a Disney hotel, it can be a fantastic addition to an already great Disney vacation especially if you have young children who will be thrilled when Disney characters make their appearance at your hotel. |
