Get Smart About Disney Park Tickets

Confusing? Expensive? It certainly can be. You can pay anywhere from $71 per day down to $23 per day for Disney park tickets depending on how many days you buy. And that's just for one theme park per day. Some additional savings are usually available if you get your tickets in advance. And there are probably some optional extras you will want to get such as the Park Hopper so you can visit more than one park a day and maybe the Water Park Fun option. These two options are a fixed price no matter how many days your base Disney park tickets include, but they can add another $100 to your ticket costs. Still if you plan a bit and take the right approach you can save money on your tickets.

Did you know that you can get free tickets for sitting through a timeshare sales presentation? Exactly what you get is going to depend on the specific presentation and how long you have to suffer. Some will offer reduced price tickets but unless you can bargain them down to free or a few dollars, it isn't worth the aggravation. My wife and I did this once and it was an experience I'll never forget. It went on and on and on until I thought my head would explode and they'd never let us out of there. They are very very persuasive and it's a very hard sell with all the psychological tricks they can manage to apply to get you to buy. While we did get a nice collection of free tickets, it was an unpleasant experience. And don't believe what they tell you about the time involved in the presentation either. Unless you're immune to this kind of sales pressure, it might be cheaper to just buy park tickets.

If you are booking your vacation through a travel agency or tour operator, you will often be able to get tickets discounted as much as 50%. Travel and tour operators buy tickets in large blocks at substantially reduced prices to pass on their customers (or to make a small additional profit while still providing a good deal for their clients). Since the tickets are only part of what you're buying, you may be able to haggle with the travel agency and even get the tickets at their cost. Don't be shy, ask how low they'll go on the tickets - after you've settled the rest of costs. You can always go elsewhere and see if you can get a better overall deal and they know it.

Getting front gate tickets or buying from the Disney website isn't a good idea. You'll pay full price and the thrill of getting to stand in line before you even get inside. When you purchase through a broker or agency, your discount will normally depend on the number of days you are purchasing with the smallest discounts on a single day pass and the largest on a 10 day Park Hopper. Be careful who you buy from. It isn't a good idea to buy from someone on the street as there are Disney tickets which are non-transferable and showing up at the gate with one of those is going to create a problem. A legitimate and reliable ticket broker, tour operator or travel agency offers you one of the best ways too reduce the price of your Disney park tickets and avoid any difficulties.
